Office Manager and Head Litigation Paralegal
Karen T. Gauntlett was born in Kingston, Jamaica. She graduated from Holy Childhood High School in Kingston, Jamaica at the age of 16, having completed the equivalent of two years of junior college in the USA.
Karen immigrated to the United States after she graduated from high school in Jamaica. She attended Florida Atlantic University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree as an English major. She then obtained a Masters-of-Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix having obtained a 3.67gpa. Karen attended law school, and she hopes to once again, sit for the Bar exam.
As a former Guardian ad Litem, Karen has worked tirelessly as a volunteer advocate for children who were abused and neglected. She is also a Notary Public.
Karen has two amazing children, Christian Blake, an NFL player and Adonnis, a Graphic Art Designer as well as a Granddaughter, Olenna. Her motto is “What Ever it Takes!”
As the Office Manager, Karen, along with the Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer, oversees the day-to- day operations for the firm. She is the firm’s “point” person. She organizes and coordinates office administration and procedures, in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency and safety. She is responsible for developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, office staff supervision and task delegation and wears multiple hats. She has experience in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks.
As the Head Litigation Paralegal, Karen assists the litigation and pre-litigation team of attorneys and staff to fully evaluate and analyze cases from its inception up to the close of the ligation process. Karen has experience and proficiency in all facets of Multi-District Litigation (MDL). She, along with the staff of attorneys, specializes in complex litigation, including all aspects of catastrophic injury cases and medical malpractice. She has over (28+) plus years in the legal field and over twenty-one (21+) years in litigation, including but not limited to, mass torts, personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, slip/fall, trip/fall, premises liability, medical negligence, wrongful death, and traumatic brain injuries(TBI).
